I would like to say a special “ Thank you “ to Doctor Alexandr Levchenko/ pain management / . Great doctor with impressive knowledge of spine related ( but not only ) neurological, degenerative, etc. conditions. I do suffer from severe neurological disorder that developed as a result of untreated bacterial infection. Last June I ended up in ICU -one of the “ Best Hospitals in Manhattan “. Had Sepsis with multiple organs disfunction caused by bacterimia. Plus -All my nerves were burning in flames, it felt like my back was broken in multiple places- just excruciating pain. Acute join pain. Despite obvious inflammatory markers, Bandemia, CRP at 13 ,neutropenia, abnormal WBC, 104 f, liver disfunction and other symptoms of bacterial infection I was misdiagnosed with….Lymphoma Cancer ( do not ask me how ). I am lucky I refused surgical lymph node biopsy. But – no surgery- no money for the hospital so…. … “ great doctors “ sent me home with “A – typical presentation of Mononucleosis. “ ( unclear why , since I only had EBV IGG elevated ) . Obviously no meds were given. Since “ it will resolve on its own “ Well , it did NOT. Untreated bacterial Infection manifested causing severe reactive neurological complications- the list goes on and on . Being healthy and fit all my life I ended up bed bound with excruciating daily pain. Dr Levchenko did everything in his power to help to ease my condition. I was finally diagnosed by infectious disease doctor. And started IV antibiotic treatment. Pain management, while having acute infection does present certain challenges to say the least . So we had to “ dance around it .” Dr. Levchenko is very professional and treated me , considering I have severe inflammatory infection . ( as I know now certain pain management options are not available or could even be dangerous because of the presence of bacteria) . Besides his knowledge of neurological spine related disorders is very impressive. And I wish my neurologist/ who was absolutely useless all this time / would possess such precise knowledge and expertise. I also want to mention that Dr. L has great listening skills, he never rushed me , always answered my at times ignorant questions. Above, his medical records are excellent, which is so important to me , since I am still going to different specialists and it’s just hard to tell the “ story “ over and over again. I wish you would never have to see a pain management specialist, but if you do – I hope my review was helpful. (5 Star Google Review from O.A.)
