A foot or ankle arthroscopy allows your physician to see inside the joint. Your physician can see inside by inserting a tiny camera through a small incision. Surgeons will perform a foot or ankle diagnostic arthroscopy when MRIs, X-rays and CT scans do not give enough information about an injury. The procedures avoids the pain and inconvenience of traditional exploratory surgery.
