Dr. Alex Levchenko is a board-certified, fellowship-trained physiatrist specializing in the non-operative management of spine, joint, and musculoskeletal pain. He is also certified in Regenerative Medicine in Interventional Pain Management by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP).
Dr. Levchenko has advanced expertise in image-guided interventional procedures and innovative treatments aimed at relieving pain and restoring function. His clinical focus includes therapies utilizing steroidal medications, viscosupplementation, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) for regenerative therapy.
He is highly skilled in the following procedures:
- Ultrasound-guided injections for joint, tendon, and nerve disorders
- Fluoroscopically guided injections, including:
- Epidural injections
- Facet joint injections
- Sacroiliac joint injections
- Medial branch nerve blocks
- Radiofrequency ablation (RFA)

In addition, Dr. Levchenko performs:
- Peripheral Nerve Stimulator (PNS) trials and implants,
providing patients with innovative, minimally invasive options for managing chronic and refractory pain.
Dr. Levchenko’s treatment protocols emphasize a comprehensive approach, integrating non-opioid medications, physical therapy, and patient education to promote recovery and minimize the need for surgery. He is also proficient in performing electrodiagnostic studies (EMG) for the diagnosis of nerve disorders.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Levchenko serves as a clinical instructor for the Burke Sports Medicine Fellowship, teaching and supervising fellows while providing hands-on education and mentorship in the clinic.
Dr. Levchenko completed his fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports and Spine Rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He served as Chief Resident during his residency at the prestigious Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center, with clinical rotations at the Hospital for Joint Diseases and the Center for Musculoskeletal Care.
A respected author and speaker, Dr. Levchenko has contributed to publications, textbooks, and clinical guides on musculoskeletal diagnosis, pain management, and regenerative medicine. He has also presented at national conferences and scientific meetings.
