CT Magazine: Five ONS Docs are Tops

ANNUAL SURVEY RATES ONS AMONG THE BEST DOCTORS IN CONNECTICUT. 

ONS is pleased to announce that five of our physicians have been named among the 2017 Top Docs by Connecticut Magazine.  Neurosurgeons Paul Apostolides, MD, Mark Camel, MD and Scott Simon, MD stood out in their field of expertise. Orthopaedic surgeons Dr. Brian Kavanagh and Dr. Seth Miller were recognized as among the best in Orthopedic Surgery. The entire list of winners is published in the April issue of the magazine.

The 2017 survey is the result of 5,000 questionnaires that were sent to Connecticut doctors, asking them to recommend a doctor (other than themselves) to whom they would send a loved one for expert care.  The final list of top specialists was compiled by combining the top vote-getters in 2017 with those who had been ranked the best annually since 2014.

The recognition from CT Magazine follows several honors received by ONS physicians in the last 12 months.  Earlier this year, 15 ONS specialists were named Fairfield County’s Best Doctors for 2017 in an annual survey by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd, a respected national medical data research group.

Individually, shoulder, elbow and knee surgeon Dr. Paul Sethi, received the Achievement Award given by the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS) for his contributions to orthopedics through teaching, research and advocacy,  and he was the recipient of 12th Annual Man Award from the New Canaan Football League.

Dr. Mark Vitale received the prestigious Dr. Melville G. Magida Award from the Fairfield County Medical Association and the Rosenthal Foundation for his commitment to providing the highest quality of medical care and for demonstrating genuine concern for his patients.

Dr. Marc Kowalsky was awarded an Associate Membership to the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), a professional society made up of leading national and international orthopedic surgeons who specialize in shoulder and elbow surgery.  Dr. Kowalsky joins ONS Drs. Miller and Sethi as three of only eight members selected from the state of Connecticut.
