The sound waves of Ultrasound provide high-resolution images of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and nerves and allow doctors better visualization of damage and inflammation.

Fellowship trained at Hospital for Special Surgery, physiatrist Tamar Kessel, MD will discuss the advantages of using ultrasound with interventional treatments to address problems from sports injuries in young athletes to arthritis in aging baby boomers.

Tamar Kessel, MD graduated from Cornell University and earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After completing a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, she received fellowship training in spine and sports medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
