Subacromial decompression is a relatively non-invasive arthroscopic procedure to treat subacromial impingement syndrome. Subacrominal impingement is a condition where the rotator cuff tendon is pinched between the humeral head and the undersurface of the acromion. Arthroscopic subacromial decompression may be recommended by your physician if a course of conservative treatments such as medications and physical therapy fails to resolve your symptoms.
The video below demonstrates this procedure.
A patient’s surgery may vary according to the individual’s condition.
