TREATMENT FOR SPINAL FRACTURES
Surgeons perform a Kyphoplasty to restore alignment and stabilize a fracture in the spine, which reduces pain. Through tiny incisions, the surgeon guides an instrument that places a small orthopedic balloon into the vertebra. The balloon is carefully inflated to put space between the collapsed vertebra. The surgeon then replaces the balloon with a type of cement injection between the vertebra to prevent a collapse from recurring.
