ONS Rising Stars

We are pleased to announce that four ONS specialists have been recognized as 2021 Rising Stars™ by Castle Connolly, a leading national research and information resource for patients. This recognition puts ONS physicians among only 7% of all U.S. board certified physicians!

Jonathan Berliner, MD, hip and knee replacement surgeon, Matthew Cantlon, MD, hand, wrist and elbow surgeon, David Wei, MD, hand, wrist & elbow surgeon, and Mark Yakavonis, MD,  orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon, received the 2021 Rising Star designation.

Since 1991 Castle Connolly has been the nation’s official source for identifying Top Doctors™.  They introduced the Rising Stars program in response to the large pool of nominations for physicians who were not board certified long enough to qualify for Top Doctor designation.  According to the statement issued by the company, a 2021 Rising Star appointment puts a doctor on the pathway to future status as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.  As with Top Doctor selections, 2021 Rising Star physicians were chosen based on peer nominations and thorough vetting by Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team.
