Osteoporosis: Prevention, Treatment and Management

Osteoporosis, or thinning bones, can result in painful fractures. Risk factors for osteoporosis include aging, being female, low body weight, low sex hormones or menopause, smoking, and some medications. Orthopaedic surgeon Steven Hindman, MD, will discuss bone anatomy, fracture prevention exercises to promote bone health, updates on treatments, and personal risk factors. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
