The Stamford ASC, also known as the Stamford Ambulatory Surgery Center, began providing outpatient orthopedic, neurosurgical and interventional pain management procedures on March 28. The center includes two surgical suites that were built specifically for orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures, equipped with the latest arthroscopic and computer-assisted technology. It also has a procedure room for interventional pain management procedures, a comfortable waiting room, and pre- and post-operative areas. Relatives and friends accompanying patients to the facility can visit a café for food and beverages nearby at Building 100. The Stamford ASC is located at 200 First Stamford Place in Stamford. Check out their website at stamfordASC.com
The ASC is the result of several years of research and planning, which began when 14 ONS partners with a shared vision set out to build an industry-leading surgical care facility that could provide the same-patient centered care our patients have come to expect from ONS. The physician partnership includes Drs. Apostolides, Camel, Clain, Cunningham, Ennis, Fiore, Greene, Hindman, Kavanagh, Miller, Nocek, Sethi, Simon and Vadasdi.
Congratulations to them!

YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT ONS
Congratulations to Angeline Oliver, Medical Records Coordinator. Angeline received the “You Make a Difference” Award because she has been praised by many patients and colleagues as capable and knowledgeable and for her enthusiasm, professionalism and can-do attitude.
CALL CENTER UPDATE
Volume at the call center is on the rise. Our call center staff now handle over 12,000 calls per month!
To accommodate the new staff needed to handle all those calls, we expanded the center with 5 additional workstations and opened up the area by reducing the interior wall to half height. The new space not only accommodates our growing staff, it also contributes to an improved ambiance and airflow.
For many patients, the call center staff provide the first introduction to the ONS patient experience. Expert handling of calls plays a vital role to the organization. The new call center design plays a key role in helping our team excel in customer service.
Elsewhere in Building 9, the small conference room in the business office was converted into an office to accommodate the Business Office Administrator, Emelyn Mojica , who was promoted to that position in December. The conference room that bridges the Business Office and Call Center was expanded and equipped with a computer and wall-mounted flat screen monitor for larger meetings and training sessions.
