Sports medicine focuses on diagnosis and treatment
of injuries related to sports and exercise.
Sports medicine physicians have advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries from sports and exercise-related activity. A sports medicine surgeon completes a specialized fellowship program after completing their residency in orthopedic surgery or primary care.
At ONS, our doctors take a team approach and patients are matched to the specialist that’s right for their condition.

ONS Team Coverage
Our doctors have served as consulting team physicians to professional teams including the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. They currently provide game coverage to Columbia University Varsity basketball and football and teams at Brunswick School, Greenwich High School, Iona Preparatory School and others in the region.
If you are an Athletic Director or Athletic Trainer interested in medical coverage, athlete screenings or injury prevention seminars for your team(s), our experienced team physicians can help. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Through ONS Ortho Access, our sports medicine physicians are reachable by phone to help Coaches and Trainers determine how a game or practice injury should be managed: whether the athlete should be seen at our office on a priority basis, go straight to the Hospital ER, or if it is safe to manage them conservatively at home until the next working day.
